Cody is safe!!!

I know some of you have seen the news where the helicopter went down. It was near where Cody is, but Cody was NOT on that helicopter! Thank God!!! Unfortunately tho lives were lost and those guys were close to our friends. It was not shot down or anything, but a malfunction occurred and that was the cause (according to the Armed Forces Network). Cody does have to travel by helicopter, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pray for his safety there and back! As soon as he gets back, I've asked him to e-mail me and I will post on here! Just please keep him in your prayers! So many bad things have happened lately and it is SO stressful here and there. Please Pray!

Heartache!

It seems like the minute that I kind of get to feeling normal in this Army life, something horrible happens and I'm stressed/worried all over again. There was a soldier killed in our unit and it hit really close to home. This soldier had a wife, a 2 yr old and one child due in a few weeks. I can not imagine the pain that that family is feeling! My heart hurts for her and I feel drained, and that is only one tiny portion of what she feels. When I got the news I immediately e-mailed Cody to see if he was okay. I sent it to his work e-mail so he would get it directly. He e-mailed me back within the hour and all it said was, "I'm okay. I'll call you when I can". So I know he is safe, but I am still very worried for him. Death should not be something that is on anyone's mind all the time, and when you are constantly surrounded with the possibility and then when it happens to someone you know, its terribly sad. It's been 4 days now since I haven't heard from Cody(except for the one line e-mail) so I'm having a hard time. Normally I would be okay, but after this death and since the elections were on that same day, I'm just very worried! At least I know he is okay and safe! Please keep the Unit in your prayers!

Fall is Near!

It seems just like yesterday that Cody and I were so excited for the Winter to be over and that Spring/Summer was starting. Now we are into the middle of September and Fall is beginning. I drive down the road and look at my surroundings and see leaves falling on the ground and look at the trees and see oranges and browns and reds! This time of year is so beautiful and makes me realize that fall will come and pass then winter and then spring, time will always pass and good things will come.

Today was a good day! I woke up for church, I woke up a little late but still made it to church on time. After church I went to get me some lunch. Came home and ate it played with the dogs a bit, watched some tv and did some homework. Then got bored so I went out and mowed the yard. Got the yard mowed and then needed to pull weeds and get grass out from in between the bricks on the back patio. Everything looks MUCH better and more clean outside. While I was out working my girlfriend/neighbor came by, she was walking with her kiddos. She seemed tired and a bit down so I asked her to go to dinner (not just cuz she was having a hard day but ya know). So after her walk we got in the car and went to the Mexican Restaurant in Graf. That is the BEST ever... okay so not better than Las Fuentes, but close enough... I am in Germany, hahaha. Then we came back and we were standing outside talking and all the sudden this big dog walks/trots by... I of course being a dog mommie felt sad for the dog and scared for the owner. She was on the other side of the street so I just watched her, you could tell she was looking for home :( so sad. So she came back our way on our side of the street and my friend(she doesn't have animals) was kind of scared but I was like aww come here baby and slowly put my hand out, hoping she was nice. And of course she was so so so sweet and had a collar on, so I knew she had an owner. It was really dark so I couldn't really see her. I brought her to the house and put her on my cable out on the back patio. Me and my neighbor, and both kids, went looking for the owner, then about after 5 minutes we here our other neighbor saying Maggie (the dogs name) and we were like are you looking for a dog??? and then I realized who it was and who the dog was. YAY we found the owner! My heart just drops when I see doggies missing. It's kind of embarrassing but I cry when I look at the dogs who are in the pound, when reading The Paper! We rescued our love Chloe from the pound and she is THE light of my life. O and now I have mosquito bites ALL over me! Germany and the mosquitoes.. they are AWFUL!!!!

hmm I need a jump rope! Total off the wall thought, but a girl is jump roping on TV, so not so off the wall... LOL

Miss my honey! I was gone when he called tonight :( I know he is doing good because he called so YAY!

Remembering 9/11

Today is a sad day for our Nation! I say that but then again feel so privileged to be a part of this Nation! I feel so proud that when someone attacks us, our brave men and women go into action and fight. They have been fighting for us over 7 years, putting their lives on the line for the hope that a horrific thing like 9/11 NEVER happens again! There are specials all over the tv channels today and it is a scary and sad memory of what happened. The one that I am watching is called The Voices from Inside the Towers. They are talking to survivors and showing recording of voice messages of people who were in the towers. Showing people who had to make a choice of either burning to death or jumping from 90 floors up. One of the most disturbing things that I have seen so far was in the South tower people were wanting to exit, and over the intercom was a message, "this building is safe, there is no need to leave your desk" and not long after that message the second plane hit the south tower! It makes me think of what the people really thinking and going through while they were in the towers. It makes me soo angry that someone would want to hurt so many people that way! I'm angry, sad, and mostly hurt that those people and their families had to go through that and many of them lost their lives and loved ones!!! Family members heard their loved one's last words on a freaking message machine!!! My heart is aching! It makes me angry that this happened! People are so amazing and wonderful to come together when tragic things happen and fight for what is right! I love America, and I know that sounds chezzy but I truly do! We are soooo sooo soo blessed to live in a country that if free and cares about it's people!

In remembrance of the families and victims of 9/11

It's been a few days since I've blogged. It's been pretty quiet around here. The weather is started to change so more indoor "activities" are going on. In other words it's mostly staying in the house. I've been staying pretty busy with school still. I just finished a homework assignment today and did 3 of them yesterday. So I'm done for the week. It is such a relief to be free from homework. I have 2 wks left, one of normal school and one of finals. Then I start my next and LAST class! I can't wait. I graduate in November and it is in reaching distance now.. I can see the light!

I'm still dog sitting, but her mommie should be back next wk. I swear it smells so much like dog in this house!!! I have people over and they say they can't smell it, so I'm not sure if they are just being nice or if my nose is just really sensitive (which it really is, I have a good sniffer) Tomorrow I'm going to take all the rugs outside and beat them out and wash them! ICKY! I really just need to buy new rugs, but I'd rather just clean and deal with the ones I have so I don't have to spend money. My most favorite rug is our black shag rug, but we got it before we had Chloe and then once we got her she decided that she liked to pee on it (not anymore but when we first got her)... I cleaned it up right away with doggy remover stuff, but then again it is shag so it's hard to really get it cleaned. Plus when Chloe has her doggy playdates her friends want to go pee on the rugs as well... what the heck is up with that???? Yes I know you are probably grossed out and I kind of am to, but what can you do? Tomorrow will be a good day of rug cleaning and oil changing in the Jeep.

Cody called last night, he is doing good. He finally got a helper and he is doing really good. Cody says that he has taken a large load off of him, but Cody is still really busy. He has finally gotten to get some time to watch a movie here and there or go to the gym. That is really good for him because he needs that down stressfree time. It's like the more time goes by the more I miss him, but I'm so proud of him and just look forward to the day he is home!!!

YAY September has arrived and we are already on day 3. I mowed and raked the yard today, did 2 homework assignments and talked with my neighbor for about an hour. The dogs have been good today so far.... haha. I'm thinking about heading to Graf in a bit. Need to get a few things.

I got to talk to Cody some last night. He tried to call on Skype but the connection wasn't good enough so we ended up chatting for a while. I like chatting better anyways. I did get to see him for a bit and he looked healthy. He looks good. I miss him !

I have 2 wks left in my classes, then I start one class on the 26th and that is 9 wks long. Then I am DONE.. yes I said DONE with school! I'm super excited and I can't wait to FINALLY get my degree! Once November gets here time will fly by even more. I'll graduate, then come home for a bit, then I'll be back in Germany on the 4th of Jan and then one month Cody will be home for R&R, then 3 months till he is home for good... I've probably talked about this before but I'm super excited for all that to happen! I just need things to do to keep time flying this month and next month... It will fly tho, I'm excited about it! YAY
